The Site and the Methods

What is Stellaro.net?

A calculator and an interpretation workshop for birth charts. You enter the date,
time and place, we calculate the chart from that and describe what it shows.
Four systems stand side by side: western astrology with houses, vedic
astrology (Jyotish) with nakshatras and dasha periods, Human Design and the
sidereal variant of it.

How precise is the calculation?

We calculate with the Swiss Ephemeris, the standard of astrological
software. Planetary positions are accurate to the arcsecond. We calculate the houses
ourselves using the classic Placidus formula; also selectable are Koch,
Regiomontanus, Campanus, Equal and Whole Sign. Beyond the polar circles
Placidus is mathematically undefined – there we quietly switch
to Whole Sign houses and note this in the chart’s details.

I don’t know my birth time. Can I still use the site?

Yes, but with limitations. Without an exact time, the Ascendant, MC and the
house distribution aren’t reliable, and the Moon can shift by several degrees
depending on the day. The Sun, the other planets and the aspects between them are
largely accurate. In that case use 12:00 noon and treat anything to do with houses and axes
as non-binding.

Which house system and which ayanamsa should I choose?

If you’re unsure: western Placidus, vedic Whole Sign with Lahiri.
These are the most common settings. The choice doesn’t change the
planetary positions, only their distribution across the houses – and in sidereal
mode, the signs.

Why does my star sign show up differently than usual?

Because you’re probably calculating in sidereal or True Sidereal mode. The
tropical zodiac used by newspaper horoscopes is anchored to the vernal point;
the sidereal one to the constellations. Between the two there are currently around
24 degrees. Both are correct within their tradition – they simply don’t answer
the same question.

Is astrology true?

Astrology is not a natural science and demonstrates no effect of planets
on people. What we provide is carefully calculated symbolism and
an interpretation drawn from it – a thinking tool for self-reflection, not a
factual claim about the future. The calculation is exact. The interpretation is
an interpretation.

Interpretations and AI

Who writes the interpretations?

A language model that works exclusively with the fully calculated data of
your chart and a knowledge base we maintain. It does not recalculate anything
and does not invent placements. The tone is descriptive: themes and
possibilities, not event predictions.

What don’t I get?

No statements about health, illness, death or pregnancy. No legal or
financial advice. No predictions about elections, wars or stock markets. No
interpretation of named third parties who have not asked themselves. For all
of that there are professionals, and they are better than we are.

How long does an interpretation take?

About one to two minutes. The calculation itself happens in a fraction of
a second and is always free – the waiting time only comes from writing the
text.

Can I ask follow-up questions?

Yes. Under every chart there is a field for questions. Every answered
question counts like an interpretation from your quota.

Are my interpretations saved?

Only if you click „Save interpretation“, and only with an account. They
then appear under My Interpretations, and can be renamed and deleted again.
Without a click, the text disappears with the page.

Calculating, account and plans

Do I need to sign in to calculate?

No. Charts, transits and the drawings are available without an account and
free of charge. You need an account for the AI interpretation, for saved
interpretations and for everything under Foresight.

What costs what?

Calculating costs nothing, always. The free account includes three AI
interpretations per month. Pro and Studio include more interpretations and
unlock Foresight, PDF export, multiple saved people and the transit calendar.
The exact numbers are under Pricing.

How do I count my quota?

Above the calculator it shows how many interpretations you have left this
month. Every AI interpretation and every answered follow-up question costs 1.
Every pure calculation costs 0. The quota refills at the start of the month
and is not accumulated.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at the end of the current billing period, without giving reasons. The
right of withdrawal for digital content is covered in the withdrawal policy.

Forecast (Pro)

What is a Solar Return?

The chart for the moment when the Sun returns exactly to its birth
position – once a year, usually on your birthday or a day either side. It
describes the theme of the coming year of life. It’s common to calculate it
for the place where you are at that moment; the calculator has a Current
Location field for this.

And a Lunar Return?

The same for the Moon: roughly every 27 days it returns to its birth
position. The chart of this moment colors the following lunar month. Much
finer-grained than the Solar Return and correspondingly less weighty.

What are Secondary Progressions?

An old time method: one day after birth corresponds to one year of life.
We calculate the chart for this progressed point in time. The most important
pointer within it is the progressed Moon – it moves about one degree per
month and takes around two and a half years per sign. This describes slow
inner development, not appointments.

What does „Other Place“ do?

Relocation. Your birth moment is calculated for a different place. The
planets remain unchanged – only the Ascendant, MC and the distribution of
houses shift. From this you can read which areas of life a place brings to
the fore. It is not a relocation guide.

And the World Map?

Astrocartography. For each of the ten classical planets there are places
on Earth where it stood on the meridian (MC/IC) or on the horizon (AC/DC) at
the moment of your birth. We calculate these lines in true equatorial
coordinates and tell you which of them runs close to your birthplace or to a
place you’re asking about. If no line is nearby, we say so – that’s the
normal case and not bad news.

How does the transit calendar work?

We calculate the next 90 days and weight each date: slow planets weigh
more heavily than fast ones, conjunction, opposition and square more heavily
than trine and sextile, hits to Sun, Moon, Ascendant and MC more heavily than
anything else. From this comes a ranking and a monthly overview. The
weighting is a rule of thumb, not an oracle.

Can I subscribe to the calendar?

Yes, in two ways. Under My Area you choose a saved person and a
frequency – weekly or monthly – and receive an email with the strongest
dates. The same email contains a link that lets you bring the calendar
directly into your calendar app (ICS subscription, works with Apple,
Google, Outlook and Thunderbird). The link contains an access key –
don’t share it, or anyone can read along.

How many people can I save?

One in the free account, twelve with Pro, two hundred with Studio.
Only birth data and a name you choose yourself are saved.

Cosmic Quality

What is the Cosmic Quality page?

A walkable model of the solar system for a moment you choose freely. You see
the planets on their real orbits, you can let time run and turn the view. On top
of that we calculate values nobody else shows: the gravity of each body at your
place, its tidal effect, the common centre of mass of Sun and planets. That is
physics, not astrology – and that is exactly why it stands beside it, not
inside it.

What do I get additionally with Pro?

The astrology layer: three zodiacs side by side (Western tropical, Vedic
sidereal, real constellation boundaries), seven selectable zero points, the
aspects between the bodies and a comparison of our calculation with the Swiss
Ephemeris that states the deviation openly. The basic view with the orbits and
the physical values stays open to everyone, even without an account.

Why do you show gravity and tides?

Because it is often claimed that planets act on people physically. The
numbers say otherwise: the Moon exerts about two and a half times the tidal
effect of the Sun, and together the two leave all other planets far behind. We
would rather show that openly than keep quiet about it. Astrology does not
stand or fall with a physical force.

Data and Privacy

What do you store about me?

For the account: email address and password hash. Plus what you create
yourself – saved readings, saved people, subscription settings.
Birth data that you only type into the calculator and don’t save, we do
not store.

Does my birth data go to the AI?

The calculated chart goes to the language model so it can interpret it.
Your name goes with it if you enter one – leave it out if you don’t want
that, the reading won’t be any worse for it. The email address never goes
along.

Can I have everything deleted?

Yes. Individual readings and people you delete yourself. For the whole
account, write to us via the form under My Area, then we delete it along
with its contents. What’s stated in the privacy policy applies.

Do you sell data?

No.

Technical and Languages

In which languages is the site available?

German, English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian.
On your first visit we go by your browser’s language; after that, what you
select above applies. The AI readings are created directly in the
chosen language, they are not translated afterwards.

What is StarNews, what is Sternenwetter?

Sternenwetter is the daily look at the sun: measured values on solar
activity and Earth’s magnetic field, plus an astrological reading of the
day. StarNews gives an astrological take on world events. Both are
interpretation, not news and not a forecast – that’s also stated under every
post.

Do I get a PDF?

From Pro onward, yes. Every saved reading can be downloaded as a PDF.
Charts, Bodygraph and Mandala are also available as SVG and as PNG in two
sizes, that too without a subscription.

Something isn’t working.

Write to us via the form under My Area and include what you did and
what happened. If it’s about a chart: date, time, place and the chosen
system as well, then we can reproduce it.
